- So this is what it is like to have an empty nest. We are realizing that though children are a lot of work - it is a LOT of work without them here! We miss Jenny's yardwork, Kyle's maticulous vacuuming and Savanna's running all our errands. And who could have known that as you get older you begin to cherish the exact things that you tried desperately to avoid when you were younger . . . getting up early (really early) to walk the dog, a house full of noise and children, and an inside dog.
